If the software was written by people with one iota of intelligence or design ability, then it would run in the background - seamlessly, like a screensaver - and there would be no 'interface' for the user to have to figure out. They do it by understanding the different kinds of people who use computers. If the BOINC folks really want computing power, then they will need to reach out to the (very large) majority of computer users who are not computer specialists themselves. But I cannot figure out the interface without more than a modest time investment, so I cannot practically contribute my computers to these projects. I am a Stanford professor with some computer skills. It is the same reason that I was searching for this thread. ![]() We can easily guess why this person is trying to uninstall/delete BOINC. If it is a simple matter of deleting the program, then the information and explanation should be in the help manual, not in the message board.
